As the Church Staff Grows
When we started ReCAST Church back in 2009, we had no employees. Technically, I was paid full-time as the church planter/pastor, but I was paid fully by another church that entire first year. Berean Baptist Church in Portage, MI, was generous and gracious to give us a great financial start!
But now, fast forward to 16 years later, and we have three full-time pastors and a full-time office manager. We also have on staff several part-time positions that include a bookkeeper/office assistant, a facilities manager, a children’s director, a worship leader, and an A/V director. As a church grows, administrative needs can become overwhelming to a pastor that is limited to his strengths and also limited by his weaknesses.
I am so grateful for the way that God has continued to bless ReCAST Church over the years with many hires from within our church body. I have had a front-row seat, seeing God raise up the right people at the right time.
And so, as we enter another time of flux, we are in need of a bookkeeper to manage the bills, payroll, and QuickBooks. My confidence that God has this person out there is based on my past experience. When He makes an opening, He also provides the person.
The early years of a church plant were more simple, and yet the steps along the way of numerical growth have continued to grow my faith. I am glad that God gifts us all in different ways. And someone out there with a knack for numbers will be joining our staff in the near future. I am looking forward to seeing who it is!
