RBI – Bible Doctrines
The goal in E-Groups is to grow in the knowledge of God and His Word. While community certainly happens in these groups, growth in knowledge and study is the emphasis here. RBI = ReCAST Bible Institute. RBI classes are a little bit more rigorous. This class is led by one of our church Elders, Mike Biancalana. and will begin on Monday, September 15th.
What will be studied in this class?
If you studied through the whole Bible and summarized what it teaches about a topic like God’s providence, or man’s sinfulness, or prayer, what you would end up with would be called Biblical doctrine. What you would be doing in studying that way is systematic theology. Oftentimes large and fancy words are just pet names for things that are actually not hard to understand.
In this ReCAST Bible Institute class we will be studying the core Biblical doctrines, organized and clearly explained in Wayne Grudem’s excellent textbook with an obvious name, “Systematic Theology, An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine”. Grudem does an excellent job of explaining these things in ways that are easy to understand and only uses the fancy names for things after telling you what they mean in plain English. The class will by no means be exhaustive, but will provide an overview. We touch on what the Bible teaches about things central to the heart of our Christian faith and life. Come grow in faith and knowledge of the truth.
